Story & Atmosphere
Welcome to Goldfinch Tavern, an exquisite dining destination that seamlessly combines Pacific Northwest flavors with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Located in the elegant surroundings of a luxury hotel, Goldfinch Tavern stands out not only for its stunning views of the Sound and the iconic Ferris wheel but also for its exceptional service and meticulously crafted dishes.
Step inside, and you're greeted by a friendly staff that enhances the overall experience. Guests like Giselle Jordan celebrate special occasions here, appreciating the welcoming ambiance and remarkable dishes like the crab eggs Benedict—an indulgent delight paired perfectly with a refreshing mimosa. The atmosphere captures the essence of coastal dining while being reminiscent of a cinematic backdrop, which makes it a visual treat as much as a culinary one.
The menu at Goldfinch Tavern balances creativity and tradition. For dinner, patrons can opt for unique experiences like the "trust the chefs" option, providing an adventurous culinary journey through five courses. While Weston Corbin's experience with gnocchi may have raised eyebrows due to its Mediterranean influence, the overall flavors—especially the thoughtfully seasoned steak—shine brightly, illustrating the care with which each dish is prepared.
Seafood lovers will find joy in the house favorites, such as the exquisite clam dishes or the comforting crab chowder highlighted by Jimmy Son in his review. Here, each bite is a testament to the freshness of ingredients meticulously sourced from the region's abundant waters. Although opinions may differ on certain dishes, the commitment to quality and customer satisfaction resonates deeply—just ask Dr. Varleisha OT, who experienced personalized attention from management that reflected the restaurant's dedication to its guests.

“ I came here for my birthday and had such a great time. From the moment I pulled up, the valet made it easy, and once I walked in, I was accommodated quickly and felt very welcomed. I ordered the crab eggs Benedict with a mimosa, and even though I missed the brunch special time, I was still extremely happy with my meal. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated — and the service was outstanding. Everything came out just right, and the staff made sure I felt taken care of the whole time. It is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, atmosphere, and the way they made my birthday feel special made it completely worth it. ”
“ I had dinner and breakfast here. I had the "trust the chefs" option for dinner. It was a really nice experience with basically 5 courses. I thought the gnocchi course was out of place, being the place is Pacific Northwest inspired. Nonetheless, the dish was good. The steak was slightly overcooked for my liking but had a great flavor and was seasoned well. My server was really great. She was professional and very helpful. The crab Benedict for breakfast was great. ”
“ First of all the atmosphere was amazing. It feels like I was in a movie set. I had a really nice seat with a wonderful view of the Ferris wheel and the water. The staff was extremely friendly. I think it’s a friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered at any sort of restaurant establishment in my life. I forget my waitresses name that she had red hair, I think, but regardless she was so friendly. 10 out of 10. The food was amazing. So are the drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The dessert was amazing as well. It was a nice way to end my Seattle trip. Would definitely recommend I would definitely come back. ”
“ Update 9/6/25: The general manager Kash reached out to me after my post. Not only did she want to speak to me about my experience, but also offered a full refund. We had a conversation about the experience. She ensured her staff would be properly trained, also reviewed the incident with the team, and asked various questions to see their gaps in knowledge. I have never had such a follow up from a restaurant in my life! Original post: If this is their typical level of customer service, I’d recommend giving them a try. I will be going back when I’m in the area. I dined on 7/17th during a flight layover for dinner following my spa treatment at the Four Seasons. Believe me, I travel the world and appreciate great food. I read the reviews and chose the restaurant over one that was further and it seemed amazing! I'll start with...I truly want a refund. This is not something I typically do. The service...5/10. I sat at the bar and eventually was greeted by a young lady (didn't catch her name but believe she was from Colorado). I'll just say I did not feel special nor did I feel I was a patron about to spend money at the establishment. She didn’t offer any information on specials etc. I had to ask all of the questions and for the price, you'd expect attentiveness. I spent over $200. I can't but help to think there was some bias that led to the lack of care or professionalism. She even served me a smoky old fashion and never removed the glass top...delivered it and walked away! Now, another server (red hair) was great! Somehow she stepped in and became the one to assist me with the other never returning. She offered me snacks while I waited which was never presented by the other server. I would have given the service a zero if it weren't for her. Now, let's be clear. I had a goal to treat myself and didn't hold back on what I ordered. I got excited to see Salmon Tartar. I have celiac disease and I don't eat land animals. They told me they could give me gluten free toast in place of focaccia. Perfect! Well...not exactly. Zero flavor in the tartar! I was shocked. I thought maybe that's why it's typically tuna tartar. I didn't eat it...so not like me. They asked how I liked it and I told the truth. Not an offer to bring something else or to remove it from the bill. Nothing! Next, the raw oysters. Well, I was in Seattle and those did not disappoint! So, I was hopeful. The fish of the day...$65 of blandness. I couldn't believe the lack of flavor. I ask for a sauce or something. They obliged and proceeded to bring me a sauce that added some. When I told the server the fish still did not taste well, she mentioned they did not provide me the original sauce because it had gluten. Well, I wouldn't have ordered a pricey dish if I couldn't eat it. Why not tell me. I asked her what happened to the salt, pepper, any seasoning? She laughed. I tend to be gentle with my critiques. I regret that I wasn't in this case. I left feeling disappointed and taken advantage of. I’m a mother and wife who was in business travel. This wasn’t the dinner to spoil myself. ”
“ We really liked the clams. But do not order the mushroom risotto. It didn't taste like mushrooms (got 3 pieces of morel), more like bland boiled rice with a hint of asparagus flavor. Texture was very off. Other than that the service and atmosphere was great. ”
